Frances Pigot was one of five daughters of the Very Rev. Sir Richard Wrottesley, 7th Bt., Dean of Worcester. She married c.1768 Admiral Hugh Pigot (his second marriage). Her sister, Elizabeth, married Augustus FitzRoy, 3rd Duke of Grafton (his second marriage) also in 1768, whilst he was Prime Minister. They lived between his brother’s home in Patshull, Staffs and Wynchwood Forest, Oxfordshire. They had three children, one of whom in 1797 was murdered by mutineers onboard HMS Hermione. Hugh died in 1792. She died in 1811, aged 67.
