South aisle
The pair of panels are of a mother and child, also an angel with child. The child is leaving its earthly mother and accepted by a heavenly, angelic mother. They commemorate the death of a small child of the Howard Vyse family of Stoke Place, Stoke Poges – most probably Mildred Eleanor Fanny who died aged six in 1870.
The painted glass panels were made in 1871 by Mayer & Co. of 70 Grosvenor St, London. They were donated by Richard Howard Vyse.

Makers mark on panels
The pair of panels commemorate the death of Julian Richard Howard Vyse of Stoke Place, Stoke Poges. He died aged 27 in 1887.
The words at the base of the panels are – “Suffer little children to come unto me”
The painted glass panels were made in 1888 by W.James of London. They are believed to have been donated by the Howard Vyse family of Stoke Place, Stoke Poges.
Julian was one of Mildred’s older brothers. The other brother, Howard Henry, the eldest, had already inherited Stoke Place, Stoke Poges, before either of them had died because their parents had already died. Henry died in 1927 .
