
Lady Juliana Penn was the 4th daughter of Thomas Fermor, 1st Earl of Pomfret. In 1751 she married Thomas Penn, the son of William Penn – the founder of Pennsylvania, USA. In 1760 they bought Stoke Park estate and she lived the rest of her life at Stoke Park. She died in 1801 by which time her son, John had built the white Mansion house in Stoke Park. To commemorate her, there is a large urn in the adjacent Memorial Gardens which was at the Mansion house.
