John Theodore PARRY (1888 – 1907) memorial plaque

Memorial John Theodore Parry 1888 1907 Stoke House StokeGreen StokePoges Poges

John died of pericarditis at the age of 19 in his bed at Stoke House, Stoke Green, Stoke Poges. His french mother, Amelie Mathe Piguet Parry was by his bedside at the time. His father, Edward ‘Ted’ Hagarty Parry was Headmaster of the private boys preparatory school at Stoke House. John had been educated by his family and at Charterhouse school where he had played in many sports teams, including the 1st X1 football team (following in his father’s footsteps – Ted had played for England and Captained the Old Carthusians team to win the F.A. cup.)
